So there I was minding my own business, making a legitimate left hand turn on a green light, when suddenly Boom! I got rear-ended. I hesitated 'cause there was a woman turning right who was GOING, no matter what, and the person behind me slipped on the wet pavement and ended up taking part of my bumper off.

There's not a lot of damage - the bumper's bent, and off its mooring on one side by about an inch, and a brake light is broken. The guy in the car with me said he was fine, and my injuries seem to be limited to a bruise along the back of my arm. Apparently the edge of the driver's seat is pretty rigid.

This is the first accident I've had in Ontario, though, so I'm about to start wading into the mess that is our insurance system. I've got the other driver's name and address, but I'm not really sure I need it.

Any advice before I start?

He kept saying that he was fine, so I hope that hasn't changed. My big worry is that I'll stiffen up really badly - my back is starting to get stiff now, although my neck is still just fine. Apparently the extra-high headrests in the Tercel are a Good Thing.
