Good times!
Jun. 12th, 2006 07:56 amWow, what a weekend!
To sum up? Fun!
It started bright and early Saturday morning with a hair appointment to get my highlights all brightened up. On Saturday, an 8:00 appointment is just too early, especially since I needed to bring all my stuff for the trip to Ottawa to the salon with me... Poor M left his travel mug of coffee sitting on my kitchen counter, so he didn't even have that to accompany him on the trip back to Cambridge.
Then it was off to Union Station, to wait for my train. I made it with a little time to spare, but I wasn't horribly early, either. I didn't like trundling through Union with a large suitcase, a garment bag, a carry-on and a purse, trying to find some lunch... I can't believe I packed sooo much stuff for a week. Sure, it's a wedding, but I brought 5 different pairs of shoes! Me! I didn't know I owned 5 different pairs of shoes. *g*
Saturday night, we then went out for my Sister's stagette. That was lots of fun - we had dinner at Maxwell's (cute waiter!), and then went dancing at a place called Griffin's, I believe. We got BabySis nicely toasted - everytime someone went to the bar to get a drink for themselves, they came back with a drink for her - I don't think she had any idea how much she had. *g*. She spent the last couple of hours of the night out on the dance floor, having a great time.
The only bad news is that the card in my camera appears to have fried, and I lost a number of pictures from the stagette, including those of the cute waiter at Maxwell's. *Sigh* I'll have to buy a new card today.
Yesterday was quieter - BabySis & soon-to-be BiL spent he afternoon working on wedding plans, and I tried to stay out of their way. Although, once they needed a break from the planning, we did have a game of Settlers.
Since the Matron of Honour was an hour late for the stagette, I've been put in charge of time-keeping at the wedding. So, I'm now off to get a new battery for my dress watch - it's difficult to be the time-keeper when you haven't got a watch that goes. *g*
Tonight, Mom & Dad arrive. Tomorrow, we spend the afternoon putting tag on the wedding favours, while BabySis and BiL are out getting massages. Then, the insanity starts. *g*
