My night of teen angst dramas -

I really like the episode that focus on the adults, like this one. My overall impression: Dr Harold so wants to be Andy, Ephram is cute even when not angsting, and I want to know exactly what's wrong with Linda.

I loved Ephram getting his musical geek on. I loved the way his casually dismissive attitude towards the James Earl Jones character (you could see the "stereotypical crotchety old geezer" thought in his head) changed the instant he walked into the music room, and saw the collection, and then heard him play. I'm a little surprised that JEJ's character didn't lose his arm in the cave-in. That would have been the obvious emotional string to tug, and I'm kinda impressed that they didn't do it.

And, what's up with Linda? Hep-C is hardly the only blood-bourne disease running rampant in sub-Saharan Africa, just the least...controversial one. And, even if she suspected that she only had hep-C, wouldn't getting tested be the first thing she would do once she returned to the States? If she knows what she's got, then doesn't she owe her patients the truth? She's a doctor, she should know better than to mess with stuff like that. Not to mention the lawsuits she's opening herself up for if something goes wrong.

And now, for my other teen angst guilty pleasure, The O.C.

Again, it's the adults that really work for me in this show. It's nice to have a teen angst drama where the adults are not only there, but their problems are real, and logical. I was kinda peeved that Sandy didn't tell Kirsten about the case before she found out from her company that Sandy was part of the legal team blocking their latest development. That's being peeved at the character though, and not at the writers for a bad choice, which is kinda nice.

Adam Brody is just great as Seth. He's got wonderful comedic timing. The dinner scene was really well done - tension you could cut with a knife, and Seth trying to ease the tension by asking exactly the wrong question.

My favorite bit, though, had to be the exchange in the teaser about "the look".

And, I'm trying the whole icon-making thing. I'm not real happy with this one - when I merged the layers, the red just faded into the background - so I'll proably redo it, but I wanted to use a topical icon for the post. Yay!
