Well, that was a too-tense 15 minutes.

There I am, innocently balancing my Visa bill, when I reach over for the Carmen tickets for Friday night to verify the price and... the envelope is empty. I repeat, the envelope is empty. A frantic 15 minute search of my apartment and I find the tickets, fallen down into a box of Torcon stuff. I have no idea why they were no longer in the mailing envelope, but at least I found out today when I could search (somewhat) calmly rather than Friday night as we're leaving, or worse, when we got to the Hummingbird Center.

I never leave the tickets out of the envelope, simply to avoid this. So, it's entirely possibly that I might have just grabbed the envelope on the way out the door on Friday and not looked for the actual tickets. That would have sucked.

Okay, I can breathe again. And, on the plus side, my desk is the cleanest it's been since about a week after I moved in. *g*

Thanks! Finding them was a bit of a relief, definitely. I've been looking forward to this for a while, so I would have been really disappointed if we couldn't go.

I love it when you panic...cause it NEVER happens!

Glad you found your tickets, though!

I once lost a plane ticket at the airport. That was a panic. Eventually I found it scrunched at the bottom of a pocket, but it was a tense twenty minutes (which I barely had to spare).

I had a similar thing happen, I think it was heading off to first year University. We're in the car going to the airport and the conversation goes something like this: "You've got the (airplane) tickets, right? Uh, I thought you had them..."

And then there was the time I somehow managed to forget our plane tickets. The counter agent was much nicer after I pulled out a credit card to buy new tickets (which I could afford to do because she promised that the unused ones could be refunded).

Phew, on your behalf!

I am the princess -- nay, queen! -- of rebuying things because I've misplaced/lost the original purchase. It's okay for most things -- nothing wrong with having extra toothpaste, for example -- but it's a bit silly when it's books or event tickets.

For the record, I lost the toothpaste in my travels, not in my bathroom -- even my untidyness has its limits. :-)
