Frogging sucks!

Rows knit on my sweater this week: 28.
Rows currently done: 8

Twice this week I've had to unravel what I've done and start again. I just started on the front of the collar, where flaws will show horribly. So, when I find something wrong, taking it out is pretty much the only option. The first time was a flaw in the cabling; the second, I was so concerned about the cabling I missed an armhole decrease.

Oh well, third time's the charm, right?

Undoing work is horribly frustrating, though. *sigh*

Yup, know what that feels like. I am currently working on a pair of socks for Christopher (the first I have ever done as I hate working with four needles), and when I was working on turning the heel I think I unravelled it four times before I got it right with Mom's help. It is frustrating when you are doing it but its well worth it.

You never forget where you made the mistakes, even though no one else may see them, you always will.

If it's somewhere subtle I might let it go - who's going to notice a bad stitch under the arms, for instance? But a mistake on the focal point of the sweater - the beginning of the cabling around the collar? Not a chance I was gonna let that go.

Oh well, I seem to be back on track. And I'm past the armhole decreases, so I can't go forgetting that again, at least. *g*

I try to subscribe to the Amish method when knitting (that is, there is no creation here on earth that can be perfect as only God can make perfect things, therefore anything made by (wo)man should have a flaw deliberately built into it out of deference to God).

Of course, trying to subscribe to something and actually being that gentle with oneself are two totally different things. :-)

I still think I've got you beat in the frogging department, though. I once knit a Sweater of Five Sleeves (and I only used two, so ...)

Yeah, I really don't mind small flaws - I tend to think they make the result look a little more individual, actually. Big flaws I'll take out and redo, though.

I'll happily concede the title of "most frogging done", though. Long may it be yours! *g* (Of course, I haven't started the complicated bit in the hood yet... I may have to take out a lot more before I'm done)
