Happy Holidays, everyone!

The trip was a little stressful - sitting on a tarmac at Pearson for a few hours while we were waiting for de-icing wasn't a whole lotta fun, especially since I knew my connection from Halifax was going to be tight.

The good news was that the plane I flew to Halifax on was needed to go to St. John's for the LOndon UK redeye, so they offloaded us in Halifax and then put those of us going on to St. John's back on the same plane. Woo-hoo! 'Course, they left my luggage in Halifax...

My luggage showed up just fine, 10 hours later, and all was good.

I had a good Christmas with my family. My Mom was a little confused by the stockings that BabySis & I did up, (she'd decided not to do them this year, since we're not in her house, and the stockings she'd made for us are somewhere in storage, waiting for the new house) but I think she liked them. The hit of the day? BigSis got an iPod from her husband. BabySis & I spent all day going "Ooh, jealous!" I got Buffy Season 7, Angel Season 4, a couple of Thea Gilmore albums, and some really cool Aperitif glasses. Score!

We had Christmas dinner at my Aunt's place, which was also quite nice. My cousin has an almost 2-year-old daughter who was the star of the evening. She's talking in full sentences, can sing her abc's and is just the epitome of cute *g*

This was the first Christmas dinner since I was a toddler that Mom hasn't had the whole family into her place. It was good, though.

Mom seems to be okay this year, after all. She's been a little down because she couldn't do Christmas up "proper", but I think she's actually been okay. This is the first Christmas in 14 years that all her daughters have spent Christmas morning in the same house, and that's been the positive we've been emphasizing.

I went to a get-together of the old crowd last night, and it seems like almost all of us are in town this year. Very strange. It was cool to see everyone. I appear to be just about the only childless person left of that crowd, though. There are times that seems kinda odd, but I guess that's the way it goes.

It was much fun seeing everyone - there were people there I hadn't seen in 12 or 13 years. Everyone seemed happy, and settled, and just content in their lives. That was good to see and hear, although a few hours of small talk is probably not a great indicator for reality. *g*.

Now, we're just watching the weather and airline sites again. BabySis was supposed to fly out today, but Halifax is, apparently, completely socked in. She's gonna be all sooky if she doesn't get out (she misses her guy) so I hope it clears up! *g*

Glad to hear that you and your luggage have been reunited, and that Christmas was fun even if it was not exactly "proper".

See you when you get back,

C
