Well, I'm back. And caught up on my friends list, even.

Random things, from stuff I did this week:

  • The Babylon 5 Season 3 credits may just be the best TV credit sequence, ever. I'd forgotten how much I loved them, but the music and imagery are a perfect fit, and I can't help singing along. ... "our last, best hope for peace. It failed. Buh buh BUUH, buh buh BUUH...."
  • Don't read Janet Evanovich in a public place. Ever. I was reading To the Nines on the plane on the way back to Toronto, and the person sitting next to me was getting a huge kick out of watching me burst into laughter and then try to stifle it before anyone noticed.
  • I think I've lost my patience for huge fantasy epics with umpteen points of view. I was reading George R.R. Martin's A Storm of Swords, and not only did it take me all week to read it, but I was really, really irritated by all the points of view. I don't think it was a badly written book, but it became really irritating to get involved in a character's story for 15-20 pages, and then get thrown across the continent for someone else's story, and know that I wouldn't be back to the first character for another hundred or even two hundred pages. There are, literally, 15 different POV characters in the story. It's just too many. Although, this aversion to multiple POVs may not be new, now that I think about it. It's why I don't read Robert Jordan or Terry Goodkind, as well.
  • Surprise parties are fun.
  • Golf can be fun, too. I played with Mom & Dad, and shot a 98. 'Course, that was only 9 holes...
  • Newfoundland weather sucks the big one.

I think that's my week in a nutshell. It was relaxing, at the very least.

Hi, Caryn! How goes it?

Steve and I are, indeed, going to be in TO this weekend. My hair appointment is a bit earlier than I thought (11) so doing something in the morning is probably out. Want to get together in the afternoon? I should be free around 2. We leave TO probably some time shortly after dinner.

Check this out: there's at least a possibility that Austin will be taking Steve shopping for real clothes tomorrow afternoon. Wanna go along and critique? (Or we could do something else.)

Y'know, that sounds like fun. Unfortunately, I still have no idea what I'm doing this weekend. M still doesn't know for sure whether he's going up north, but if he's not, I'm heading out to Cambridge tomorrow. (I had been thinking we could hook up tomorrow morning before I headed out, but then your hair appt got changed.) Basically, if the Waterloo Regional Police don't come through with his police report before 5, he can't be a camp counselor next week. So, I'll know by then, I guess. I don't get what's taking them so long - usually it only takes a couple of days. He requested it 3 weeks ago.

I'm sorry to leave you hanging like this, but I really have no idea what's happening. I'll let you know before I leave work today, though.

That's okay. I understand completely. If things work, they work. Otherwise, we'll see you at the BBQ on the 25th at the latest, right?

Oh, we're definitely on for the BBQ.

Actually, the Evanescence concert is next week, right? I'll see you then. *g*
