Beautiful Music

Last night, mycrazyhair & I went to see zoarazul in the spring QuodLibet concert, and enjoyed some absolutely wonderful music.

It was all sacred music this time round, and all of it was good. The highlight for me had to be a version of Ave Maria by Franz Biebl that was absolutely breathtaking, although the Alleluia by Jean Berger was also wonderful.

There's something about beautiful harmonies done by beautiful voices that just transports me. The main reason I kept singing in my Church choir long after I started questioning my faith is that music touches the divine, for me. I may not have believed everything in the service, but I was always sure that God was in the music.

Last night reminded me of that.

M & I spent the last 4 1/2 hours de-pigeon-shit-ting my balcony, and re-netting it in a little tighter this time. With luck, I'll actually be able to use the balcony this summer. It's not huge, but I'd like to wander out there once in while without being afraid that the toxicity would kill me. *g* And maybe even put some flowers out there, to have a little colour nearby....

The first attempt today took the pigeons 15 minutes to figure out how to get in. 15 minutes! So, we've tightened the attachments of the netting to the bottom of the railing, and blocked off the bottom with cardboard and my step ladder. Hopefully that'll keep them out until I can get some lattice to permanently block off the bottom on Monday.

After that, if they still make it in, I swear I'm investing in a BB Gun.

Next up is a shower, some dinner, and then down to the CrazySteve residence for not_matt's birthday. Looks like we're gonna be a little late, though...

There is, once again, a pigeon on my balcony.

It got in (somehow!), and now it can't get back out past the netting.

Anyone got a BB Gun?
