Getting ready to move
Mar. 8th, 2005 03:55 pmThis is starting to get a little scary - I still don't have a place to live in 6 weeks. Gulp! I've got four appointments scheduled for tomorrow, and hopefully, one of those will be good. I'd really like to have that weight off my mind, anyway.
In the meantime, I'm starting to get ready to get rid of stuff. I have way too much for an apartment downtown. I'm keeping my furniture, but all the stuff I've just managed to accumulate over the years? I think it's gonna go.
My plan for Sunday is to do a serious weeding-out of my books, and any book that hasn't been re-read since I bought it is going. The very thought of getting rid of books has me nauseous, though. I think I may bring the term "pack-rat" to a whole new level. *g* The Bujold will stay, the Guy Kay will stay, the Nora Roberts will stay. That's pretty much all that's safe, right now.
In that vein - does anyone have any idea what I can do with an almost-entire collection of the Columbia House videotapes for Star Trek and Star Trek:TNG? The only one I'm missing is Encounter at Farpoint, I believe. I can't believe I've got about $3000 (then, anyway - nowadays they're not worth much at all) worth of videotapes sitting in boxes in my closet. If I'd known about DVDs I'd never have started buying them. *g* I'd consider eBay, but the shipping costs would be kinda huge.
Comic books: to stay or to go is my next dilemma....
