So, the Hugo Nominees for this year have been posted.
Paladin of Souls is one of the novels nominated (Yay!). I was a little surprised that Order of the Phoenix wasn't on the list at all.
But, the interesting thing for me was the Dramatic Presentation Short-form category. Chosen (BtVS) was on the list - no surprise there. Rosetta (Smallville) was also not a surprise. I'd nominated Shattered, but now that I think about it, Rosetta was the obvious choice from that show. Gollum's acceptance speech at the 2003 MTV Movie awards was great, and I'm glad it made the list - it hadn't even occurred to me that it would be eligible. But then comes the other two nominations - the two unaired episodes of Firefly. I just keep thinking that somebody mounted one hell of a campaign to nominate them, but it seems a little odd that they'd get both episodes nominated - what a way to split your own vote. Was there two separate groups out there working for this, and they picked separate episodes to get behind? That seems odd, too.
Hmmm.
