The Good and Bad of my TV Viewing habit

First off, the Good News - Sci Fi is doing a Farscape miniseries! Yay! They're managed to sign the original cast - or, at least, they've signed Ben Browder and Claudia Black. This makes me happy. I just hope that Space picks it up here in Canada.
The bad news - Everwood was new last night, and I missed it. The last time I checked the interactive guide (Friday morning, I think), a re-run was scheduled. So, I didn't even turn it on to check. That's the first time that I can recall the IPG misleading me. Oh well, at least the WB replays Everwood on Sunday. I'll just have to remember to set my system up to tape before heading out of town for Easter.
So, I received the season 1 box set as part of my birthday gift from my parents, and M & I started watching it on the weekend. Having a decidedly non-fannish boyfriend makes watching the 2 seasons of B5, 2 seasons of Angel, and a season each of Buffy, Firefly, Xena, and Smallville that I have on DVD unopened a little hard to schedule, but something like The West Wing (or Homicide:Life on the Street for that matter)? - he's so there.
Anyway, we watched the first 5 episodes, from the pilot through The Crackpots and These Women, and I'd forgotten how very good this show was. For all that I'm not fond of Jed's speech about the women of the West Wing at the end of "The Crackpots..", the rest of it absolutely amazing. The scene with Josh listening to Ave Maria alone in his office has haunted me since the first (and until this weekend, the only) time I saw it, and I'm glad I've been able to see it again. Another couple of weeks, and we'll probably be up to my all-time favourite episode, Celestial Navigation. I can't wait.
