I don't have a lot to say about this yet, but Wow.

I can't believe Joss (and Amy Aker) actually had me crying over Fred. I tend to think of her as filler, for the most part. At best, she's dull. And tonight, she had me in tears. The line "I walked with heroes." - for some reason, that just got to me.

For the first time this season, the Angel & Spike buddy-cop dynamic worked for me, too. And, Lorne got to show that he's not just the cute-and-fuzzy, friendly demon - he actually sent shivers up my spine while talking to Eve. Who was also good.

The whole cast - they all just really brought their game to this episode, y'know? It was well written, and very well acted.

My only nit - if the hole goes all the way through the world, it comes out somewhere in the South Pacific, right. How many people are there between LA and, like, Figi? or even New Zealand? What are the chances of the demon being able to latch onto a soul if there's just nothing there? Couldn't they have gone to the other entrance? I suppose there's no guarantee that it wouldn't have grabbed somebody else, but it wasn't even mentioned as a possibility, and that threw me.

That's two really good episodes in a row. Why is this only happening now, when the show has been cancelled?

Just so you know, the reason I'm not commenting is that, as usual, I didn't see Angel on the day it aired. I figure I'll catch up on the weekend.

Yeah, I kinda figured that. After all, you were here in town on course last night :-)

See you tonight!
