So, I thought I'd give home-dying my hair a try. One of the casualties of my home-ownership budget was getting my hair coloured regularly, and it's been boring the crap outta me recently.

I picked out a brand, selected a colour, and this morning, screwed my courage to the sticking point and gave it a shot.

The goal? reddish with blonde highlights (see icon for example. *g*)

The result? brunette with blonde polka dots.

Oh well, it'll grow out or fade eventually, right?

It's been my experience that what you get right after you color is seldom representative of the final result. Highlights especially start to show through more in a few days. For which I am personally grateful ;).

Oh man, I hope that's how it works for me. :-) The brunette's not so bad, it's just a slightly lighter shade than my natural one - but the polka dots are a bit much.

I was really just more amused than anything - anytime I try to do something somewhat girly (like, y'know, dye my hair), it fails. Sometimes spectacularly - this one hasn't hit that stage yet, at least. *g*

A day later, it's not quite that bad. Just a little ... splotchy. Both M and crystal_diva swear it's fine. *g*
