Snow, Snow, and more Snow

Once again, a storm is hitting the area just in time to make the evening rush hour really ugly. It has just started snowing here, which mean that when everyone leaves to go home in an hour, the roads will be just horrible.

I, however, am not going to complain. My parents got snowed-in at Toronto yesterday (St. John's had a blizzard, so their plane from here to St. John's was cancelled before they even left Bermuda), and crashed with me while they were stuck. The weather in St. John's cleared up well enough for them to leave this morning, and this system didn't move into here until now. If they hadn't gotten to take off this morning, the next available flight was around 6:30 p.m., and you just know they would have been here until at least tomorrow night. I got to spend a few hours with my parents, but if I had to not-sleep another night on my unbelievable uncomfortable futon, I'd probably kill somebody. So, this works out well.

Congratulations on getting rid of your parents! (If I had one bed plus one futon, my parent-tolerance limit would be even shorter than the current 72 hours.)

I hope it's not too nasty out there, because one of my co-workers insisted on driving home from Kitchener to TO tonight. I keep picturing him in a ditch somewhere. (Not in a car in a ditch - just HIM in a ditch. It would probably help my visualization if I'd ever seen his car.)
