I'm looking at the concert announcements for the next few months, and it's just killin' me!
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are in town for a show on Oct. 15. Springsteen! with the E Street Band! Ticket prices aren't even that bad - 65 + fees and up. How much longer is he going to be touring with the whole band? If we don't go this time, will we ever get the chance?
Then today, Neil Young announced two dates at Massey Hall. Neil Young at Massey Hall. That could be an amazing show.
The top three Canadian Idols are doing a mini-tour, and those tickets went on sale about an hour ago. I'd love to see Carly Rae Jepson perform, but I'm not sure I wanna go to an Idol concert. Maybe I'll just keep an eye on the clubs, and see if I can catch her in smaller venue.
Plus, the Anticipation rates were published today. I know the way that works - two years from now, they'll probably have doubled. If I'm gonna go, I should buy a membership now. Will I go, though?
I'm going after work today to buy my new stove and fridge. No options there, that has to be done. And, I could save myself a few hundred dollars and not buy a gas stove, (that'd cover the Springsteen tickets, for sure. *g*), but THAT's the very epitome of short-term gain for long term pain. That's just dumb.
This is the part of becoming a homeowner that's going to be hardest for me to get used to. I've gotten very, very casual about spending my money freely over the years, and I can't do that anymore. I just bought Cowboy Junkies tickets - they're doing a "Trinity Revisited" show at Massey Hall in February - and that was supposed to be my one indulgence for the month.
But... Springsteen! Man, I wanna buy those tickets when they go on sale on Monday so badly. I just have so many huge expenses coming in the next little while...
Feh. I'm starting to feel like a two-year-old throwing a tantrum, pissy because I'm missing something shiny. I made this choice, and it was the right choice to make. Gonna miss some of the shiny, though.
