I had a great weekend, full of happy-making things.

All day Saturday was spent at a wedding (The wedding was at 11:30 in the morning, followed by a luncheon/reception, followed by a pool party back at the newly-weds' house) - M & I got home sometime after midnight. *g* It was a wonderful day, the bride was radiant, and it's always good to share in that much happiness. Wonderful day. Even if the best man did spend the last hour or so of the night trying to browbeat M into proposing to me. Apparently the consensus is - we should be getting married next summer, it's our turn to throw the party. We told them we'd throw the party anyway. *g*

Yesterday was spent lazing about in the sun, devouring my copy of HP:TDH. I got up at 10 in the morning and ran out to pick up water and milk for coffee... and a copy of the book. I am such a geek, sometimes. *g* I definitely enjoyed the book, and I had trouble putting it down until the end, but that's all I'll say about it here.

Plus, the first of the absolutely fresh, just picked that morning, Ontario corn (bought off the back of the farmer's pickup truck, the best kind) came out this weekend. Supper last night was chicken burgers, spinach salad, and BBQ'ed corn - one of my absolutely favorite meals.

Yeah, it was a good weekend.

Can you explain to me how you BBQ corn? I've tried before but never get it right.

Sorry for the pressure re getting married. I've been there. It ain't fun. Even though they mean well. *HUG*

You carefully pull back the leaves (without pulling them off) and remove and much of the silk as you can, then re-wrap the ear up again in the leaves. Pull of any hanging leaves, and throw on the BBQ for about 20 minutes. We do it over charcoal flame, and not gas, but I don't imagine it's all that different...

The gettin' married thing was kind funny, actually. He (the best man) had the date picked, the ceremony designed, all that stuff... He was also pretty drunk, so it was easy to laugh at him.

Hooray for happy-making weekends!

Did the shawl get finished? And shall we see you tonight?

nope, the shawl didn't get finished. I gave up on Thursday afternoon and went and bought a little pashmina instead. They were on sale, 2 for $15, so it seemed the less-stressful alternative. *g*

I think I'll be at stitch 'n' bitch tonight, but I've a bunch of errands to run first, so I may be a little late.

Hooray for getting to see you! And no worries on being late. :) Whenever you show up will be good.

(And if you bring the tent, we can get it into the pile o' camping gear.)
