I just got a call to set up my pre-construction meeting for the house. Whee!

Tomorrow afternoon, I get to go meet my builder (the actual, real person-overseeing-the-day-to-day-work-on-site builder as opposed to the sales staff and design center staff I've met so far), go over the plans and upgrades, address any concerns, all of that fun stuff! Mattamy does this with the new home owners just before they start actual construction, and they wanted to get me in this week or next.

It's actually starting to happen. *g*

And, if you needed any more proof that you made a good decision, here it is: http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/archive/April2007/30/c2862.html

They've been great to work with so far, I've gotta admit. Communication's been pretty good, especially considering the delays they've hit due to Stouffville politics. Everyone's been helpful and accommodating, so far.

Of course, the process hasn't gotten far enough along for me to find any problems, really. So far, the work's been mostly on my end, deciding what upgrades I wanted and could afford. We'll see how that holds up once we get into the actually building, if I find anything going wrong. One of the reasons I went with Mattamy was their reputation for good work and good service, though. Hopefully, that'll hold true on this build as well. *g*

Things like this meeting tomorrow are a good sign, though - it's really a chance for me to meet the people who will actually be doing the work of building my home, and to clear up an potential misunderstandings on what I meant by the upgrades beforehand.
