So, Exodus.

Thoughts:
- I really liked Jonathan giving Lex the compass. The implications were a little anvilicious, but if I didn't like anvils, I wouldn't be watching Smallville, would I?

- I actually bought the Clana, in this one. Lana didn't irritate me at all, and I consider that a major step up. At least she didn't make the good-bye with Clark all about her - she was concerned about Clark, convinced he was doing the wrong thing, but she didn't actually say "How can you leave me, too?" The closest she came was an "I need you", which to my mind, isn't the same sort of guilt-trip.

- I can't decide if Chloe's going over to the dark side, or if she's trying to play Lionel. I hope she's just trying to find out what Lionel knows about Clark, but if so, she's either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid. Or both. There's no way she should be able to fool Lionel for long. On the other hand, I really don't want to see M&G take her down the "woman scorned" road, which is what it looks like they're doing.

- Lex - he really can't win, can he? He tries to do the right thing by confessing that he'd broken in to Helen's office. For his trouble, first he gets dumped, and then she tries to kill him! And, his best friend doesn't even show up at the wedding. I wanted to shake Clark for that. I know he was a little freaked over the message from Jor-El, but Lex was going to need him. I've seen a couple of peope comment that Clark knew / thought that the wedding wasn't going ahead, but he should have realized that he'd have been needed just as much when Lex had to tell everyone that his fiancee wasn't showing up, as he would have been if the wedding was going ahead.

- I'm still not sure what was going on in the plane. It looks like Lex was drugged, of course, but where did everybody go? If the cabin door had been opened, it should still be open, and it didn't look like it was. Although, the oxygen masks were down, which would indicate that the cabin had depressurized. I should re-watch that and check. At least the pilot had to be present when the plane took off, since I don't think you can take off on auto-pilot. The whole sequence struck me as a little dreamy - maybe it's a hallucination of some kind? Highlighting Lex's abandonment issues?

- Jonathan's reaction to the miscarriage struck me as completely in character. He was grieving, and he has a history of striking out when upset. Clark made an easy target, especially since it was Clark's actions that were the root cause of the miscarriage. Jonathan hadn't processed far enough to realize what his words would do to Clark. I hope they pick up in the fall right where they left off - I want to see his reaction when Pete (or Lana) tells him that Clark's left, and why. For someone who'd just been lecturing Clark about the consequences of his actions, he'd didn't think his words through very clearly.

I'm looking forward to all the RedK!Clark fic that's undoubtedly percolating out there. If only Lex was also in Metropolis...
