Reading Log
Feb. 6th, 2005 10:26 amI thought I'd start one of these, as well. It's a little disheartening to realize how little I actually read, anymore. I have at least partially figured out why, though - It's really difficult to read a big hardcover or trade paperback when you've got a cat trying to sit on the book, and willing to fight to defend that territory. *g*
Anyway, I finished two books in the past week, my first for the year.
Hopefully, I'll actually manage to finish Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell sometime soon (I started on New Year's Day, and I'm a little more than halfway through). It's not that I'm not enjoying the book, mind, it's just that I'm getting a little tired of fighting with the cat about it.
Now, I'm off to finish watching last night's Battlestar Galactica...
Anyway, I finished two books in the past week, my first for the year.
- Humans by Robert J. Sawyer - All I can say about this? I wish he'd go back to science fiction, and leave the morality/religion/philosophy stuff to someone who's not quite so... heavy-handed.
- Northern Lights by Nora Roberts. Pretty typical fare from Nora Roberts. If you like her stuff, chances are good you'll like this one. One thing she's done really well here is vividly draw the town of Lunatic, Alaska and its people. Before I was halfway through the book, I was wanting to move there. Then I thought about how much I hate snow, and the desire went away. *g*
