Thanks to lannamichaels' Paint Shop Pro version of the instructions for turning a photograph into a sketch, I've been playing around in Paint Shop again, and have actually picked up a few things. While the sketch of my cat didn't work all that well - he's a black blob, whether in colour or black and white - it was fun figuring out how to use different layers, and how they interact.

I've figured out how to add text in a way that makes it fairly easy to manipulate (you put it in another layer, natch), and I now know how to use the eyedropper to identify and match colours. I just find it so much easier to learn a piece of software when I can learn through doing something concrete rather than just trying things and going through the manuals and help files.

Now I just need to start figuring out animated gifs...

Smallville 3x19

Just when I'm about to give up on Smallville, they go and pull off an episode that makes me fall in love with it, all over again.
