One of these days, you'd think I'd learn.

Yesterday marked the third time in my life I got fingers caught in stupid, goddamned power windows.

You think I'd learn to keep my hand out of open car windows when I'm a passenger, wouldn't you? The problem yesterday was that the window was only open an inch or so, anyway. When Mike decided to test out the A/C (since we'd just been talking about how the car was making noise just like the truck had been, before the clutch on the AC compressor died), it never occurred to him that I'd have my fingers in a window that was hardly open. And since it was only barely open, I didn't have time to realize the window was going up before my fingers were caught. I screamed loud enough, Mike thought I'd been shot or something. When we got home, ice and scotch were applied liberally. *g*

My right index finger is now somewhat smooshed - nothing too bad, just lots of bruising, some skin scraped off - it's not even (much) swollen anymore. There's a blood blister right on the side of my nail though, that appears to spread under the nail itself. It's certainly bruised under there. I just hope I don't lose the nail.

And it would be the right index finger, wouldn't it? Typing's difficult, knitting will undoubtedly be worse. The pain's getting worse through the day, what with me constantly hitting the keyboard with the bruise. *sigh*

Power windows. I swear, they should be outlawed. Or at least, only the person sitting at a window should be able to move the window up. (I know, I know, parents everywhere would disagree with me. But, dammit, it hurts!) *g*
