Ow! and Ow.

That may not have been the smartest thing to do.
After not having been to the gym at all in three weeks, I decided today, the day of the 35C high temperature and killer humidity, was the perfect day to take a first spinning class at my gym.

The good news? I finished it! (I may not have been at full intensity for the whole time, but I did it!)

The bad news? My knees are buckling with every step I take. Climbing stairs on the way home was...fun. Although I believe going down stairs will prove to be worse, tomorrow.

But I did it! Go me!

Go you! Good luck with the walking today!

Fitness is good, though getting fit is often a painful and trying process. Stretch before & after, and don't let the pain stop you from moving or you'll stiffen up even worse.

Go you!

Stiffen up doesn't even come close to what's happened. *sigh* I can't sit down without whimpering. Hopefully my hamstrings (the muscle along the front of the thigh - that's the hamstring, right?) will return to normal soonish.

I knew trying the class might have been a little optimistic... But now I wanna do it again. *g*

Quadracep in front, hamstring in back (upper leg). To stretch your quad, stand on one leg and pull your foot gently up to your bum.

I knew what the two muscles were called, I just wasn't sure which was in front and which was in back.

So I now know I have dead quads. Cool. *g*

Spinning may be badass, but it appears to have completely kicked my ass, that's for sure.

I can't sit down (or stand up, for that matter) without whimpering. LOUDLY. *g*

I'll have to do it again, once I can walk easily!
