Decisions, Decisions
I'm sitting here with Form N9 - Tenant's Notice to Terminate Tenancy - in front of me, all filled out and ready to go. Do I sign it, and go through the whole moving process? If I move to the area I'd like to, I'll be farther away from work, but in a much better neighbourhood.
My current landlord is being pretty insistent that I sign a new one-year lease when my rent increase comes up in May, and I really don't want to. I know I don't have to sign, but they're also saying that they've applied for a larger increase than the standard 2%, and I think they'll get it. However, the fact that they've done considerable upgrades to the public areas doesn't change the fact that my the people in my building do things like let their dogs use the stairwell as a bathroom on cold days.
The very thought of having to look for a new place, though? It's giving me knots in my stomach. I Hate change.
Decisions, decisions. I'm probably going to pass in the notice with my rent cheque tomorrow. Here's hoping I don't chicken out a the last minute. *g*

I just keep telling myself I'll be happier in a neighbourhood I can feel at home in.

And, I'd appreciate any help you wish to offer on the "searching for a new place" front. *g*

OTOH, my last landlord raised the rent more than 10%, then raised it again less than a year later (he claimed that the second time was because the utilities went up). He wasn't a horrible landlord (especially compared to the one before him), but I'm glad I don't live there anymore.

I just want to live somewhere where I don't have to get in my car and drive if I wanna do something, y'know? If I'm gonna be living in Toronto, I might as well live in Toronto. *g*

Right. I'm actually planning to move back downtown to a place that will hopefully not be more expensive, and let me live in a neighbourhood where I can walk to stuff. I think I'll be happier there.
