madviolet at the Riv

So, madviolet is playing at the Rivoli (downtown Toronto) tomorrow night. I haven't seem them in over a year (running into Lisa & Brenley at a Great Big Sea concert really doesn't count), and I really want to go. Anyone in the T.O. area want to join me?

I just hate going to concerts alone. I always feel like a freak, standing in the corner with a glass of coke, not knowing anyone there. Having someone to go to stuff like this with is supposed to be one of the pluses of having a boyfriend, but he's got an important meeting first thing Friday morning, and can't go. Well, maybe I'll go alone anyway. I'll deal with the freaksome feeling, and just enjoy the music, right?

I first heard them perform at the Ottawa Folk Festival in 2002, and I absolutely loved them. They've only released a single album, and I've played it to death, so I would like to hear some new stuff.

Hi, Caryn. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be in Toronto on Thursday. But guess what - Evanescence is coming to Toronto. And Finger Eleven is opening. Extremely cool.

Sunday December 14th at the International Center (which I think is what they've renamed Arrow Hall). Tickets haven't gone on sale yet.

Yeah, I kinda figured you wouldn't be around. Besides, it sounds like your concert schedule is beyond crazy right now.

You betcha I'd like to go to the Evanescence show. But, what's with the 5:00 start time? That's a little odd, isn't it?

Umm.. hmm... Yeah, that time looks a bit strange. The Evanescence site doesn't have times for the tour dates. I'm betting that's a "door's open" meaning the first opening band would go on fairly early. But that's just a guess. There are two opening bands, actually. Or possibly three - who's Seether? But I'm definitely looking forward to Finger Eleven and Godhead. So that would probably explain the early start time.

Shall we get you a ticket, or would you just like to get your own? It's general admission.

Okay, great. I think that the tickets go on sale Saturday morning at 10. But you should probably double-check that on the ticketmaster site.
