Mapquest Meme

Okay, this amused me. Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] trolleypup.
1. Go To Mapquest.com
2. Click on Directions
3. Enter your Current Address and the Address of your Childhood Home (or at least the town if you don't remember the exact address)
4. Put the time and distance in a post like this.
5. Don't forget to repost these directions. (Not the door to door ones).

Total Est. Time: 38 hours, 57 minutes Total Est. Distance: 1909.42 miles

My favorite step?

Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto N SYDNEY PORT AUX BASQUES FERRY (Check ferry schedule/fares). 109.4 miles

Yeah, don't forget to check that schedule. *g* It's kinda neat though, that I can get from door to door in only 20 steps. Apparently the Trans Canada Highway goes directly to the Sydney Ferry Terminal, which is kinda cool. The Port Aux Basques crossing seems to actually be *part* of the TCH.

Slight left, huh? That is pretty cool.

Does it make you feel closer or further away from home to see the directions laid out like that?

Yeah, I probably should have posted a larger piece of the directions - that slight left is directly off the TCH.

About whether it makes me feel closer or further away - I'm really not sure. It makes the drive look relatively easy, even the through-Montreal part, which makes it seem closer. The length of time - 38 hours of driving - reinforces exactly why I don't drive it. That's a 3 to 4 day drive, unless there's at least 2 of us to go in shifts, and that's a brutal amount of time to be in a car.

Isn't a some of that time spent on the ferry?
