Weekend Report

Yeah, I had a good weekend.

To start with, I have bought more real, grown-up furniture. Nothing earth shattering, just a console table and a matching set of three stacking tables, but still - real furniture!

How is it that I got to my mid-thirties & I'm still just barely beginning to buy furniture of the non-Ikea variety? There are times when I wonder if I'll ever grow out of my geekitude. I mean, this purchase was balanced against the palm pilot that I've been meaning to buy. At least the toy didn't win, for once. *g*

Then, yesterday afternoon/evening was spent at [livejournal.com profile] mycrazyhair and [livejournal.com profile] whynotsteve's BBQ. The food was great, and it was a fun crowd. Lots of interesting conversation, lots of laughter, lots of good food, plenty of alcohol - pretty much the ingredients for a perfect summer evening. I really don't want to know what was going on with the stuffed geese in the family room, though...

That made it after midnight before I got home last night, which has translated in me being a crankypants here at work today. *g* I think everyone in the office is avoiding me.

I think I'll have to tape the Daily Show tonight & watch it in the morning. I've got a feeling I'll be going to bed nice & early.

Ditto. I didn't make it to bed until well past midnight, and then (if you can believe it) I had trouble sleeping. But the good news of the day made everything happy. Life is good.

Yeah, your good news was very good. That kinda news does make everything better, doesn't it?

Congrats again, Auntie Chris!

Many thanks. She is absolutely adorable. I'm pretty sure this impression was heightened by the fact that we visited her for an hour, and she only cried for a grand total of, oh, maybe two minutes? (I think she must be nocturnal. Poor Sheri's going to have trouble tonight!)
