Success! (but no internet)
I'm in, and it's good!
The move went fairly smoothly - the guys were fast, and did no damage. That's about as much as I can ask for, really. The only thing missing is the one of the wheel/feet for my bed. When they picked up the frame, the wheel fell off, and I could see where the connection had broken. The mover handed it too me, and told me to hang on to it so it wouldn't get lost. I promptly laid it down, of course. *g* I believe it's sitting on top of the old fridge in the old apartment. Sigh. So, my bed is propped up on books for now, waiting for me to go back to the apartment and pick it up.
My kitchen is pretty much completely set up, and I'm loving it.
Appliances were delivered without any problems, and even Rogers managed to set up my cable without any trouble. The phone jacks are mostly wired, although one doesn't seem to be working. However, Bell didn't move my internet info. I had originally canceled my internet, since High Speed wasn't available in this neighborhood. Two days after the cancel, they opened a new switching station in town, and I could get high speed. So I uncanceled the cancel, but the move wasn't added to the account. I understand the mix-up, but it's going to take 4 business days to get it going, which sucks. I'm internet-less until I'm back to work on Thursday!
I've done about 8 loads of laundry in the last 2 days. I think almost everything I own - comforters, afghans, coats - has been washed.
My Dad's built me shelves (with a little help from Mike) in the garage. They're great - it's a lovely little piece of storage that already filling up. And only one cut from the saw!
I've been out looking at blinds and drapes, but the only thing I've put up is the blinds in the ensuite bathroom. Once the neighbors moved in yesterday, it was freaking me out a little to use the washroom with the neighbour's window right opposite mine. I did find a lovely piece of fabric for drapes in the master bedroom, but they only had half as much as I needed. So, I may go looking for another Bouclair and see if I can find more.
The shopping list is about 3 pages long, but I'm having a lot of fun with the nesting.
Just gotta say, I love my house.
